I'm still enjoying the winter, but I suppose spring foraging is right around the corner!

"By learning how to gather bush tucker, even in a token way, the forager comes to feel a special empathy for the bush, a sense that the forest is provident and friendly, that one is a part of some whole. This surely is how the Aborigines and other foragers saw their world. It may be something they can help us rediscover." (Tim Low, Bush Tucker, 1989: 9)

And as Christians, I feel we have lost in the modern world the providential sense of our loving Heavenly Father's daily hand of grace. There is soooooo much free food available if we know where and what to look for.

I'll give you a word Judson: I'm looking to upgrade a subscription to a herbalist for this year and I'm currently split between yourself and Hareleah of Herbal Emporium. You put out a lot of historical material of interest (e.g. references to von Bingen, Gerard, etc.) but Hareleah has the most colourful fact sheets for individual plants of interest, ideal for printing, laminating and keeping in a folder on herbalism! Its a hard choice!
