Judson, my homeopathic doctor recommended comfrey for my broken foot, and I truly believe it contributed to my swift recovery. Without it, I likely would have spent several more months in a cast, especially since the fracture was in an area with limited blood circulation. I appreciate you sharing this insightful essay!

I’d like to tuck some smaller herbs around my Russian Comfrey’s to fill up the space in the beds while they grow/recede this fall and winter…what would you recommend? Zone 9 heat, very temperate winter.

Perhaps some Mediterranean herbs that like heat - basil, oregano and such. Or bugleweed.
