“The volatile oil of the bitter Orange peel is known as Oil of Bigarade, and Sweet Orange oil as Oil of Portugal.” So is this also the “bitters” people use in some mixed drinks?
There are a lot of bitters formulas, in fact I've written an entire book on bitter herbs! There are several citrus based cocktail bitters formula. Agnostura is probably the most popular - it combines citrus with gentian and other herbs. Peychaud, I believe, contains citrus as well.
