Slippery elm is one of my most favorite remedies. Any suggestions on growing it in warmer climates? Or a good website where they sell seeds for slippery elm and other herbal remedies common in the N. Americas?

Thank you--I’m excited to start educating myself with some of your work! I’ve always wanted to learn more about herbs and botany in general. I live in a tropical climate, though, so the plants here are very different. Thank you for sharing your knowledge!

Always my pleasure! Topical climates and temperate trees are a tough combination. Here is what Dave's Garden says on growing Slippery Elm - that always my "go to" for growing info https://davesgarden.com/guides/pf/go/54074/

Ive been wanting to get my wife onto slippery elm for some time, but it is very difficult to find these non-native trees in Aus.

Judson, would you have any suggestions for powerful and effective herbal medicines for the treatment of:

- Arthritis & osteoarthritis

- high ocular pressure (glaucoma)

- digital ulcers (esp. at the tips of the fingers)

Cheers,

JP

digital ulcers are tough -often called felons in the old herbals. You may want to start gut health/fermented food. No herbs will help more than that, and poor gut health could lead to all you mentioned.

We already eat kimchi daily (my wife is Korean) and just recently began making our own yeast bread weekly. I suspect 15+ years using proton pump inhibitors (eg Nexium) is a large part of the issue, but what can we substitute to keep her reflux under control until her gut microbiome returns to normal

Aloe vera could possibly help her reflux. Also, I enjoy the homeopathic Acidil by Hylands--you can find that on Amazon. Please ensure she is consuming good digestive enzymes with her meals; additionally, Visbiome has great probiotics that is well-studied. She might need to increase her gut microbiome to assist. Visbiome .com is their site if you do an online search.

For pain and inflammation in your joints, please look into black cumin seed oil, pro resolving mediators, GLA, and TMG. Life extension . Com has those and they have a dollar reward program. As well as PayPal in 4 which is a great option to pay over time.

Both Visbiome and Life Extension have a great customer service team where you can ask them medical related questions and for data to back up their claims; they do medical research on their products constantly.

Wishing you and your wife good health.
